Course Overview
The five-day programme focuses on equipping the Hansard and Audio officers with knowledge and skills on parliamentary practice and procedure and leveraging on Information Technology in production of parliamentary Hansard
Course Rationale
The Hansard report serves as the main reference publication for the legislatures, Government Ministries and public at large. Court of law refer to the Hansard when they are interpreting Acts of Parliament.
The rules of procedure require the Clerk of the Assembly to arrange for the preparation of a full report of the proceedings of each sitting of the house. Hansard officers are therefore required to understand the rules of procedure that guides how questions, remarks and speeches by Members are meticulously recorded and reported.
In an word that is rapidly changing through ICT, the Hansard officers need to be equipped with skills that will enable them to leverage on ICT and Artificial intelligence for efficiency.
